Stevens’ celebrate 50 years

DOWNEY – Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stevens, who live in Downey, were honored at a golden wedding anniversary hosted recently by their daughters, Karen Dagerman and Jennifer Regan. The celebration was held at the Dagerman’s home in Rossmoor. Fifty guests attended the poolside dinner.

Jim and Lorraine were married at the First Methodist Church in Huntington Park. four of the original guests were also present at the reception: Nadine Williams Hollingsworth, maid of honor, of Downey; Shirleyann Wheeler Borger, bridesmaid, of South Gate; and two nieces, Kathryn Williams Bitner, San Diego, and Corrine Williams Messere, Sun City.

They also have two sons, Kevin and Craig Stevens, and five grandchildren.

Jim Stevens retired from Brown Metals Company in Ontario.

Lorraine Stevens is active in Downey Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and is Worthy Matron elect.

For their 50th anniversary, they traveled to Indonesia with time spent in both Bali and Java.

For the last 46 years, they have made their home in Downey.
