Library marks Character Counts Week

DOWNEY – The Downey City Library will celebrate “Character Counts Week” in Downey by hosting preschool and bilingual story times Tuesday, Oct. 21, and Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 10:30-11 a.m. Library staff will read stories that demonstrate the “Six Pillars of Character” such as honesty, good manners, always doing your best, taking turns and sharing, being kind, and protecting the environment.

The program is free and does not require preregistration. It is for children ages 3-5.
