Police seek assault suspect

DOWNEY – Downey Police are searching for the person who assaulted a man Saturday night in Downey, sending him to the hospital. Authorities say police officers were dispatched to the area of Florence and Orizaba avenues at about 10:30 p.m. where they found a man injured in the street.

“At this time we do not believe this was a random act of violence, and it appears the male had been targeted,” authorities said.

The extent of the man’s injuries is unknown. No further details were released.
