Otilia Lucia Cabrera passes away

DOWNEY – Longtime Downey resident Otilia Lucia Cabrera passed away July 30 at her home in Downey. She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on Dec. 13, 1937 and immigrated to the United States in 1964. She lived in California for 49 years and in Downey since 1983.

She was a designer, seamstress and artist.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Cabrera; children, Xavier (Patricia) Cabrera, Lesley (Oscar Samano) Valero and Cynthia (Tim) Austin; and grandchildren, Serena, Helena, Damian, Ricky, Sofy and Liam.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m. at Downey First Christian Church.
