Old West books on sale

DOWNEY – The Friends of the Downey City Library is having a sale on a collection of Old West books, with all proceeds benefiting the Downey City Library. A set of 26 Time Life books is $35. It includes titles such as “The Railroaders,” “The Rivermen,” “The Trail Blazers,” “The Spanish West,” “The Gunfighters” and “The Great Chiefs.”

There are also individual copies from the Time Life set of classics for $5 each. Titles include “The Romance of the Colorado River,” “AB-SA-RA-KA Home of the Crows,” “Death Valley in ‘49,” “Wildcats of Montana” and “My Sixty Years on the Plains.”

The books can be purchased in the Friend’s Bookstore, which is located in the young adult section of the library.
