Break the monopoly

Dear Editor: It’s about time to break the Internet providers’ monopoly.

Downey should learn form other municipalities across the country and break away from the Time Warner/Verizon duopoly. We can’t wait 10 or 15 years for Google fiber to come to the rescue, we need to take action and lay our own fiber network because these two companies will not invest in infrastructure.
