‘March for Jesus’ Saturday

DOWNEY – The fourth annual March for Jesus – a community walk that brings together local Downey churches – will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 300 walkers participated last year; organizers expect to increase that number this year.

Participants will gather on the grassy area across from First Baptist Church of Downey starting at 9 a.m. for donuts and coffee, worship and prayer. The march begins at 10 a.m. on the sidewalk on Firestone Boulevard, between Lakewood and Paramount boulevards.

After the march, the church will host praise music, a gospel message, fellow and a free light lunch.
