Downey Symphony concert

DOWNEY – The Downey Symphony Orchestra launches its 57th season tomorrow with a concert at the Downey Theatre. Baritone Anthony Moreno will sing arias from Mozart operas, and the Orchestra will play Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7, under the baton of Music Director Sharon Lavery.

The concert opens with a special celebration of the 200th anniversary of “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for viewing of an art exhibit in the lobby by local artists. Lavery will give a pre-concert talk at 7:15, and the concert begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $35, $30, and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, by phone at (562) 861-8211 or online at downeysymphony.org.
