Donald R. Olson

"Oley" Olson, 89, longtime resident of Downey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife of 64 years Pauline, sons Tom (Mary) and Paul (Lynne), daughter Dawn, and many of his nine grandchildren. A natural athlete and three sport letterman in Mitchellville, Iowa, Don remained active in softball his entire life, travelling the world with Championship softball teams in his retirement years. Oley held five Senior Softball World Series championship rings! Don represented Downey in several National Tournaments with the Downey Deans, Bell Rangers, and Politicians. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday Jan. 11 from 12 - 4, services at 2pm. Douglass Family Mortuary, Lynwood, CA.
