W. Alden Wright was LAUSD teacher
DOWNEY – Long-time Downey resident W. Alden “Stubby” Wright, 63, passed away at home on April 29 after a long illness. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Walter and Natalie Wright. He attended De Anza College in Cupertino before receiving his bachelor’s Degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs at Occidental College in Eagle Rock.
Alden taught middle and elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District for many years before retiring
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Katie Callahan Wright; his son Kevin and wife, Christie Nardoni; his daughter Kristina Waterman and husband, Jeremy; his grandchildren Sean, Connor and Liam Waterman; his brother Sherman “Tané” Wright and wife, Kathaline; his brother Warren “Sandy” Wright and wife, Glenda; along with two nephews, three nieces and a large extended family.
A private gathering will be held Saturday, May 9. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to Limbs For Life.
