DOWNEY – A new veteran support center opened at the Downey City Library on Monday, providing a range of support services to veterans living in Los Angeles County.

The community-led center will provide veterans services in education, employment, entrepreneurship, wellness, and family support.

“The Downey Veterans Center will enable us to meet our full potential in reintegrating veterans and their families back into the Los Angeles community by integrating government, non-profits, veteran-serving organizations, and private partners around a mutual agenda that holistically addresses the challenges veterans face in reintegration,” said Maurice D. Wilson, president and executive director for National Veterans Transition Services Inc.

The center will be open Mondays from 1-6 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
