Rio San Gabriel Elementary sets $25,000 fundraising goal

DOWNEY — Rio San Gabriel Elementary School is participating in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge this month as it tries to raise $25,000 to help kids with heart defects.

Students are learning how to take care of their hearts while also raising lifesaving donations for kids with special hearts.

These donations will fund lifesaving cardiovascular research at places like USC, ensure more citizens in the community are trained in the lifesaving skill of CPR, and will help to educate more children on the importance of living heart healthy lives.

Rio San Gabriel has set a goal to become one of the TOP Kids Heart Challenge Schools in Los Angeles County.

You can help Rio San Gabriel students reach their goal by making a tax-deductible donation here: http://www2.heart.org/goto/DowneyHasHeart
