Newcomers to honor Lonie

DOWNEY - The Downey Newcomers Club will honor Selina Lonie at its July luncheon for her many years of service.Lonie has been with the organization for more than 25 years, and twice served as president. The Newcomers Club is also accepting new members. While they are not a service club, they do support Downey PTA Helps, the Downey Rose Float Association, and other groups. They also award three scholarships annually. Anyone interested in joining the Newcomers Club is asked to call Barbara Emry at (562) 869-1044.
