LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Mari-O and Measure-O
Dear Editor: I am hoping that Downey voters and those from area communities realize what an important election we have this coming Tuesday, Nov. 4. Never has there been a time when two such important decisions were put in front of us.
My former colleague, Mario Guerra, is widely regarded as being the hardest working and most relentless champion for Downey causes that our city has ever had. In his 8 years serving as Mayor and City Councilmember in the City of Downey, no one has delivered more to our community. Getting Mario Guerra elected to the California State Senate should be a top priority for all of us. He will surely ruffle some feathers in Sacramento to ensure our voice is heard.
Measure O is just as important to our community. I appreciate knowing that, by law, funds from Measure O will stay right here in Downey. This means no funds go to other school districts and the state can’t take one dime. All Measure O funds stay local to support Downey schools – providing updated classrooms and local jobs.
I support Measure O because I know our local schools’ great reputation helps protect the value of homes here in Downey and that, in turn, helps strengthen the quality of life in our community. Ensuring that all local students learn in safe, up-to-date schools is a smart investment for all of us.
Spread the word for Mari-O and Measure-O!
Vote Mario Guerra for State Senate and YES on Measure O this coming Tuesday, Nov. 4th!
