Man shot at Rio San Gabriel Park

DOWNEY – Downey Police are investigating a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours Sunday at Rio San Gabriel Park. 

Officers were dispatched to Little Lake Road and Florence Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a gunshot victim, officials said. 

Police officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

An investigation revealed the shooting occurred at Rio San Gabriel Park. 

“It does not appear this was a random shooting,” police officials said.
