Louise Lewis

Born Mary Louise Morris on October 4, 1915, in Manhattan, MT. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, June 20, 2015, in Downey, CA, where she had resided for over 60 years. She was involved with her church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. A family historian who during her lifetime compiled over 200 years of family history motivated by two Lewis’ siblings marrying two Morris’. She wrote and published “In Touch with Times Remembered” in 1987 with the help of her sons and nephew, Dick Morris. She was hostess of many family holiday celebrations. She was a wonderful grandmother who spent hours playing games on the floor with her grandchildren. Her story telling, bright blue eyes, and humorous personality will be dearly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Arthur C. Lewis, who died at the age of 88 in 1996, a brother Robert Morris and sisters, Fern Mushett and Florence Callahan. She is survived by her sons, Arthur C. Lewis, Jr. (Jean) and Thomas H. Lewis (Diane), their families consisting of four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and four siblings, Charlotte Bunnell, Don Morris, Yvonne Hahn, and half-brother, Daniel Caldwell. She was laid to rest in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, CA. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Community of Faith Bible Church, 12025 Industrial Ave., South Gate, CA on September 26, 2015 at 12 noon.
