Letter to the Editor: Upset with CalMet

Dear Editor:

I'm not usually one to write a letter, but it was the last straw with CalMet.

I live on a cul-de-sac on Birchcrest Road in Downey and I can not enforce who parks on the public street. Yet CalMet sends their biggest truck down my street. The driver who picks up the trash (black can) doesn't have as much of a problem, but the driver who picks up the recycle (blue can) complains every time.

He has no problem getting out of his truck and tagging the cans if he can't get to them from his truck because other cars parked by my cans, which I have no control over.

I wish Downey would pick a new trash service.
