Letter to the Editor: Hostile vagrants

Dear Editor:

My family and I have been regular patrons at the Del Taco on Firestone off of Paramount.

We have noticed that there is a regular flow of often times belligerent, hostile vagrants and homeless people who are harassing the customers. The majority of our visits also include management calling Downey Police to tend to these hostile people.

Just this week the police did not respond to the restaurant's call. My husband made a separate call since a woman began spitting at customers and throwing liquids. We were sorry to see such a slow response.

When they did finally show up, we felt it necessary to also speak to them. We found out there was some sort of unidentifiable mental or drug rehab facility nearby that allows its patrons to roam freely in the area. It is not a locked down place. This is not safe when schools are so close by.
