Letter to the Editor: Cash benefits

Dear Editor:

As a part-time elected employee of Cerritos College for my hometowns of Bellflower and Downey, I have refused the yearly Cash in Lieu of Health Benefits of over $18,000.

Now this being the start of my fourth year on the Cerritos College Board of Trustees, I am proud to say I have saved the district's taxpayers and students close to $72,000. This money is better spent on our staff and students.
