Letter to the Editor: American values

Dear Editor:

Downey has been my home since 1951. We bought our home when I was 25 years old. There have been many changes but some things should not change.

I still respect the Downey Police Department for all their hard, sometimes unappreciated, work. They are always on patrol and come immediately in an emergency. We have worked together on many projects including neighborhood watch. Thank you.

Elsa Van Leuven has been a wise advisor for many years in my opinion. She is right regarding Planned Parenthood and President Obama. Some of those pro-abortionists would not be here if their mothers had chosen abortion. Marilyn Madru is correct in her statements in my opinion ("Democratic Spin," Letters to the Editor, 1/28/16).

God bless them and those of us who love and respect our country, the United States of America.
