LAPD detective pleads no contest to child porn charge
DOWNEY – A retired LAPD detective who lives in Downey pleaded no contest Tuesday to an allegation that he was in possession of child pornography. Charles Daniel Henderson, 69, returns to court May 27. He is expected to be sentenced to five years probation and 30 days community service, and avoid jail time.
He is also expected to register as a sex offender for life and undergo one year of sex offender counseling.
Downey police officers executed a search warrant at Henderson’s home last October and found more than 600 sexually explicit images featuring children.
Henderson had been with the LAPD for about 20 years.
