L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman to keynote Gangs Out of Downey luncheon

DOWNEY — Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman will serve as the keynote speaker at the annual Gangs Out of Downey luncheon, scheduled for Thursday, March 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rio Hondo Event Center.

The luncheon, a major fundraiser for Gangs Out of Downey, aims to support the organization’s ongoing efforts to prevent gang activity through scholarships, outreach programs, and community initiatives.

Tickets are priced at $75 per person or $750 for a table of 10. Reservations must be made by March 6 at downeygood.org.

Hochman was elected as Los Angeles County district attorney in November 2024, defeating incumbent George Gascón in a highly contested race. A former federal prosecutor and U.S. assistant attorney general, Hochman campaigned on a platform emphasizing public safety, accountability, and reforming the county’s criminal justice system.

His victory marked a shift in leadership at the district attorney’s office amid rising concerns about crime and law enforcement policies in Los Angeles County.

The Gangs Out of Downey luncheon regularly attracts community leaders, law enforcement officials, and local stakeholders committed to keeping Downey a safe and gang-free city. Hochman’s address is expected to focus on crime prevention, public safety initiatives, and the role of collaboration between law enforcement and community organizations in combating gang activity.
