James Crook owned auto body shop
DOWNEY -- James Rudolph Crook, 76 of Downey, passed away July 25.
He was born in Greenville, South Carolina on Oct. 17, 1938 to Eugene Jeddo and Lottie Mae Crook, where he grew up and attended Parker High School. He married Len Clayton with whom he had two children, James Rudy Crook and Judy Ann Parker.
In 1964, he moved to California. Together with two brothers, Ernie and Jack, they owned Crook Brothers Auto Body Shop in Paramount. In 1977 Jimmy married Judy Viola Clark; Jimmy was also Dad to her three girls; Brenda Sherod, Laura Glenn, and Sheila Hammar.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Judy, his sister Annie, brothers Ernie, Robert, Richard and Jack; and grandson Joseph Rudy Crook.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Rudy and Lena Crook, Judy and Randall Parker, Brenda and Steve Sherod, Laura and Dave Glenn, Sheila and Tom Hammar.
He is also survived by his grandchildren and their spouses: James Crook, Jennifer and Brandan Schoener, Joshua Crook, Jessica Crook, Zachary Parker, Belle Parker, Jennifer Jacobs, Erica Sherod, Rachel Sherod, Kalynn Sherod, Holly and Jeff Leach, Emily Glenn, Crystal Hammar, and Heather Hammar. His great grandchildren: Brayden Schoener, Morgan Jacobs, Zack Jacobs, Jessie Rose Leach, Charlotte Leach and Ian Kai Eagle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested an act of kindness to another person.
