Holiday fundraiser tickets on sale

DOWNEY - The Assistance League of Downey will host its major fundraiser of the year this Sunday at the Long Beach Hilton.The event begins at 10 a.m. and will include a drawing for a decorated Christmas tree; silent auction; vendors; handmade crafts and baked goods; drawings (first prize is two tickets to anywhere Southwest Airlines flies); and entertainment by the Citrus College Singers. Funds from the event will go towards the Assistance League's philanthropic projects, including Operation School Bell, H.O.M.E., Kids on the Block and Hug-A-Bear.
