Fire destroys vacant building at south Rancho campus

A vacant building on the south campus of Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center went up in flames Wednesday afternoon. 

The two-alarm fire was reported at 3:10 p.m. near Dahlia Avenue and Consuelo Street.

Firefighters from Downey, Compton, Vernon, Santa Fe Springs and Los Angeles County responded to the fire, which sent flames shooting through the roof of the single-story structure. 

Flames were knocked down by late evening. No injuries were reported.
