Emilia Zambrana mourned

DOWNEY – Emilia Zambrana, born Jan. 1, 1920, passed away on March 2. 

She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Crouse and Joanne Edgerton; six grandchildren, Paige, Brian, Taylor, Dereck, Peter, Kevin and Chole; and five great-grandchildren. 

Emilia came to this country in 1944 from Nicaragua. She settled in Downey in 1961 until her  passing. 

According to Emilia, her greatest accomplishment other than her children was becoming a U.S. citizen.
