Downey woman killed in traffic collision

DOWNEY – A 22-year-old Downey woman was killed Tuesday when the Lexus she was driving collided with a trash truck. The collision occurred at about 6:34 a.m. at the intersection of Woodruff Avenue and Imperial Highway. Police say the woman, who has not been publicly identified, was traveling eastbound on Imperial in a 1999 Lexus GS300 when she collided with the truck, which was making a left turn from westbound Imperial to southbound Woodruff.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver, a 44-year-old La Puente man, was not injured.
