Downey to host Revolucion Festival, promoting diversity and Latino culture
DOWNEY — Todo Wafi, a digital media company that showcases Latin artists from around the world, has announced the lineup for its upcoming Revolucion Festival, taking place Sept. 20-22 at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Downey.
Revolucion is a yearly festival for Hispanic Heritage Month featuring the most diverse and inclusive speakers, panels, digital creators, and artists.
The event will kick off with an opening night gala featuring remarks by Global Processing Systems CEO Moses Heredia, a poetry reading by acclaimed writer and author Solany Lara, and a keynote address by award-winning actor and producer Jon Huertas.
The night will also feature dance and music presentations, and ends with salsa dancing.
According to Todo Wafi founder and Revolucion creator Rafel Fernandez Jr., each speaker and performer was hand-picked for the festival in an effort to promote diversity and inclusion, and “give people the ability to see themselves.”
