Downey student named PIH Volunter of the Year

DOWNEY – Kimberly Quiroz has been named Volunteer of the Year by PIH Health Hospital in Downey. She is the first student to receive the award.

The award was announced April 24 when PIH Health honored its volunteers at both of its hospital campuses.

The PIH Health Volunteer College Scholarship was awarded to Vanessa Ojeda, of Downey, and Amanda Avila, of Whittier.

In 2014, volunteers donated 123,439 hours at both PIH hospitals.
