Downey Police gives back

Dear Editor: The staff of the Exchange Club Family Support Center of Downey would like to give a major shout-out of thanks to the Downey Chief of Police, Carl Charles, and the Downey Police Officers’ Association for providing complete Thanksgiving meals to our Downey families who otherwise would not have been able to afford such a generous meal for the holiday.

A special thank you to Cpl. Mike Pope, president of the Downey Police Officers’ Association, for coordinating the event and the delivery of each of the meals to the homes of grateful parents and children on Nov. 26.

The Downey Police Department truly supports Downey residents and we salute them.
