Downey middle schools athletic programs have returned

After a four-year hiatus, athletic programs have returned to Downey middle schools. All four junior high schools hosted Opening Day festivities Monday, as Doty Middle School traveled to Stauffer, and Griffiths hosted Sussman in JV and varsity baseball and softball.

After a small opening ceremony at Griffiths, DUSD Superintendent Dr. John Garcia tossed the first pitch to inaugurate the spring sports season.
