Downey holding food drive Wednesday

DOWNEY — The city of Downey is hosting a day-long food drive Wednesday, with all donations benefiting the Downey community.

Items in need include canned meat, fruit and vegetables; soups and stews; cereal and bars; peanut butter; beans and rice; pasta, noodles and sauces; flour and sugar; and packaged drinks.

Donations should be dropped off at Downey First Christian Church, 10900 La Reina Ave., on Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
