DFCU donates nearly $6K to local charities

DOWNEY – Downey Federal Credit Union donated nearly $6,000 to local non-profits and charities this month, part of its ongoing effort to give back to the community it serves. Among its donations were $2,500 to Gangs Out of Downey; $1,340 to SEAACA; $1,040 to the TLC Family Resource Center; $1,000 to The Arc – Los Angeles & Orange Counties; and $100 to the PTA HELPS food pantry.

The credit union also continues to collect donations for Feeding Children Everywhere 2015.

“We are never going to stop making community involvement a priority at Downey Federal Credit Union,” said CEO Ray Mesler. “I can confidently say that all of DFCU’s staff stand behind the city of Downey and its success.”

When new members join the credit union, $5 of the one-time $7 membership fee is donated to the charity of the new member’s choice.
