Crime Report - Jan. 23, 2017
Friday, January 13:
At 5:15 p.m., a female was walking on the 9300 block of Elm Vista when a suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her shopping bag from her hand. The suspect fled the location in a silver sport utility vehicle. Detectives are investigating.
Saturday, January 14:
At 2:30 p.m., officers were investigating a trespassing at a home on the 11500 block of Downey Avenue. They located a stolen vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence and observed a female exit the vehicle. The female was arrested for grand theft auto.
Sunday, January 15:
Between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., two vehicle burglaries occurred in the parking lot behind Shakey’s Pizza (12030 Paramount Blvd.) A few hours later, officers responded to the area of Bergman and Orizaba regarding a suspicious male. He was detained and found to be in possession of property stolen from one of the parked vehicles. The suspect was arrested for vehicle burglary.
At 10:30 a.m., a resident on the 9300 block of Cecilia St. observed two males enter his neighbor’s backyard and then a few minutes later, run to a parked vehicle in the driveway. Officers located the males driving in the area of Florence and Brookshire avenues and detained them. It was determined the males removed a window screen attempting to break into the residence. Three males in the vehicle were arrested for attempt residential burglary.
At 7:00 p.m. three males armed with handguns entered the T-Mobile store (9400 Firestone Blvd.) The suspects took phones and unknown amount of U. S. currency. The suspects then fled in a dark colored vehicle. Detectives are investigating.
