Crime Report: 2/16/21
Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Feb. 1 at about 1 am, at 8039 Imperial Hwy. The adult male victim went to Vikram Liquor with two friends. As they were sitting in their car, two males approached the victims and asked where they were from. A vehicle pulled behind the victim’s vehicle and another suspect exited. The three suspects began assaulting the victims. The victims ran away and their vehicle was ransacked. The suspects entered the vehicle and fled on Imperial Hwy. Loss was a bag, wallet, phone and cash. The victims were not injured.
Detectives are investigating an attempted theft of catalytic converters that occurred on Feb. 5 at about 6 am in the Kaiser Permanente hospital parking structure. Officers were dispatched to Kaiser Hospital regarding a reckless vehicle and possible catalytic converter theft. Upon officers contacting Kaiser security, it was determined the suspects were stopped mid theft once Kaiser security arrived. The suspects recovered their vehicle jack, entered their car and backed out of the parking stall. While backing out, the suspect vehicle sideswiped the victim’s vehicle and then rear ended the Kaiser security vehicle before fleeing eastbound.
Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Feb. 6 at about 4:35 pm at 8536 Firestone Blvd (WSS Shoes). The suspect entered WSS Shoes and attempted to leave the store with two pairs of shoes and miscellaneous items. When a store employee attempted to stop the suspect, the suspect brandished a Taser and threatened the victim. The suspect fled in a white vehicle.
On Feb. 7 at approximately 12 am, officers responded to 11032 Downey Ave (Joseph's Bar) regarding an assault. While causing a disturbance, the adult female suspect picked up a shot glass and threw it at the adult female victim, hitting her in the side of the head, causing a 1.5 inch laceration. The suspect was detained at the scene and identified by the victim and several witnesses. The suspect was arrested for the assault.
