Nov. 9
At approximately 2:30 am, officers responded to the 11000 block of Downey Ave regarding someone pointing a firearm at Joseph’s Bar. Three subjects were at Joseph's Bar and were asked to leave. The subjects attempted to leave with their alcohol and security told them they could not. The subjects became angry and walked to a vehicle. One of the subjects pointed a firearm at security and another male had a firearm concealed and in his possession. Officers quickly converged in the area and detained the suspects. One suspect was arrested for pointing the gun at security and the other male was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm.
Nov. 11
Detectives are investigating an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred at about 3 am in the 8100 block of 7th Street. The unknown male suspect was heard breaking into the victim's vehicle that was parked in the driveway. When the victim walked outside to confront the suspect, the suspect was already back in the suspect’s vehicle and sped away. As the vehicle drove past the victim, it sideswiped his arms, causing minor abrasions. The victim declined medical treatment.
Nov. 13
At approximately 2 am, officers responded to Imperial Hwy. and the west city limits regarding a stolen vehicle in the area. Officers located the vehicle and took the adult male driver into custody.
Nov. 14
At approximately 11:05 pm, officers responded to the 7300 block of Irwingrove Dr regarding an overdose. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the home, unresponsive from a possible overdose. Two doses of Narcan were administered and the subject began breathing. The Downey Fire Department arrived and transported the subject to the hospital for further treatment.
Nov. 15
At approximately 7 pm, officers responded to a strong arm robbery in the area of Paramount Blvd. and the 5 Freeway. The adult female victim was selling flowers at the off-ramp. The adult female suspect approached the victim and began physically assaulting the victim. During the assault, the victim's cell phone fell from her possession and the suspect took the cell phone and fled. The suspect was detained a short distance away and was arrested. The loss was recovered from the suspect.
