Covid-19 continues to spread as Downey reaches 111 cases

DOWNEY — L.A. County health officials on Wednesday announced 42 new deaths related Covid-19, the largest increase in deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Coronavirus cases also continued to climb, with Downey now at 111 cases.

To date, Public Health has identified 10,496 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of LA County, and a total of 402 deaths.  Eighty-four percent of people who died had underlying health conditions.

Downey residents are under order to shelter at home until at least May 15.
