City hosting Halloween event

DOWNEY - The city of Downey will again host its annual Halloween event Oct. 31 in the back parking lot at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center from 5-9 p.m.The family-friendly event includes free games, a glow walk, prizes, costume contests for humans and pets, a pumpkin carving contest (bring your own carved pumpkin), and more. There will also be free balloons, cotton candy, popcorn, sodas and hot dogs, courtesy of the Downey Optimist Club and Soroptimist International of Downey.
