Animal shelters reduce fee for seniors

DOWNEY - County animal shelters are paying tribute to seniors - of both the animal and human varieties - by discounting adoption rates in May.Adoption fees are being waived for senior citizens ages 60 and older. The fees are discounted for anyone who adopts a senior pet age 5 or older. Seven county animal shelters are participating in the program, including the Downey shelter on Garfield Avenue.
