Aldo Schindler leaving Downey for new job
DOWNEY — Downey deputy city manager Aldo Schindler is leaving Downey for a new job later this month, city officials confirmed.
Schindler has spent the last eight years as part of the city’s leadership, having been hired in 2014 as director of community development. He was named deputy city manager in 2020.
Schindler’s final day with Downey will be April 21.
Schindler had previously worked in the cities of Long Beach, Bell Gardens, and Whittier. He now goes on to the City of Moreno Valley to serve as its assistant city manager.
Schindler’s successor is expected to be announced at Tuesday’s council meeting.
