Rosa Lopez, 83, mourned

DOWNEY - Rosa Lopez, a resident of the Southeast Los Angeles area since 1964, passed away Aug. 15. She was 83.She was born in Cuidad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico on March 26, 1930. Like many, Rosa was a Mexican immigrant to came to this country to seek a better life. Despite the lack of a formal education and the inability to read and write, family members said Rosa "had the will and the drive to become a productive citizen of this country." She is survived by her only child, Jose "Joseph" Lopez; and grandchildren Rebecca, Cynthia, Alyssa, Andrew and Jonathan.
