Men's Christian club meets Sept. 5

DOWNEY - Former rock band member Erick Perez will be guest speaker at the Sept. 5 meeting of the Christian Business Men's Club, which begins at noon at the Sizzler restaurant in Downey.Thirteen years ago, Perez and his brother belonged to a rock band, "doing what rock bands often do." Both men turned to Christianity, and Erick and his wife formed a South Gate youth group. Future guest speakers include Darrel Jackson, founder of the 10-20 Club, on Oct. 3, and Charlie Koo, a local man involved with Korean and English outreaches, on Nov. 7.
