Casting announced for 'The Lion King'
HOLLYWOOD - L. Steven Taylor will star as Mufasa and Patrick R. Brown as Scar in the Los Angeles return engagement of "Disney's The Lion King," opening at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood on Nov. 20.
The landmark musical is returning to Los Angeles for the first time since its triumphant return engagement in November 2006, where the production played a sold-out run at the Pantages.
Casting was announced Tuesday, which also includes Brown Lindiwe Mkhize as Rafiki, Nick Cordileone as Timon, Andrew Gorell as Zazu, Ben Lipitz as Pumbaa, Jelani Remy as Simba, Nia Holloway as Nala, Keith Bennett as Banzai, Rashada Dawan as Shenzi and Robbie Swift as Ed.
The role of Young Simba is alternated between Jordan A. Hall and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, and Young Nala rotates between Nya Cymone Carter and Zyasia Jadea Page.
