Barbara Lamberth retiring from credit union

DOWNEY - Downey native Barbara Lamberth is retiring Oct. 31 after nearly 40 years of service to Downey Federal Credit Union.Lamberth began her DFCU career in 1974, working various positions before she ascended to president and CEO in 2005. "The credit union gave me the opportunity to grow my career," Lamberth said. "In addition, working for DFCU allowed me to give back to the Downey community." In a statement, DFCU credited Lamberth for helping the credit union "thrive and become a sound financial institution...Because of her leadership, the credit union will continue down a strong and steady path." Ray Mesler, currently DFCU's executive vice president, will succeed Lamberth as president and CEO.
