West Middle School’s jazz band

West Middle School’s jazz band placed seventh out of approximately 28 schools at the Reno Jazz Festival this past weekend.

It was a big improvement for the Spartans, who finished 28th in the same competition last year.

The Downey High School choir also did well, finishing fifth.
