Walk for Life returns to Long Beach

DOWNEY – The Downey-based Amazing Day Foundation has announced that its fifth annual Walk for Life will be held March 7 at the Shoreline pedestrian bike path in Long Beach. The Walk for Life was originally held at Stonewood Center in Downey before moving to the Cal State Long Beach campus last year.

Hosting next year’s walk at Shoreline Village will allow organizers to incorporate 5K and 10K competitive runs.

Proceeds from the walk help fund peer mentoring programs at UC Santa Barbara and other initiatives aimed at reducing the number of suicides among college students.

The Amazing Day Foundation was founded by Downey resident Bob Feliciano, whose son, Sean, lost his life to suicide while a student at UC Santa Barbara.

For more information about the Walk for Life, or to register, go online to amazingdayfoundation.org.

To donate time, services, money or raffle prizes, call Bob Feliciano at (562) 869-0660.
