UCLA alumni group welcomes football season
DOWNEY – The UCLA Alumni Los Angeles Southeast Network (“Southeast Network”) brought UCLA fans together again to enjoy the beginning of college football Season. UCLA Bruin alumni and fans gathered for the 9 a.m. kickoff against Virginia at Downey’s very own Joseph’s Bar and Grill.
Simon Simonian, owner of Joseph’s, hosted over 50 people at a Southeast Network viewing party and admitted that he “loved the energy and the business that the Southeast Bruins have brought to Downey.”
Southeast Network President Miguel Duarte welcomed Albert Lemus, Chair of the Board of Directors for the entire UCLA Alumni Association.
Lemus greeted the crowd, stating that he felt proud that “UCLA and the Southeast Network are engaging the Southeast Bruin Family.”
The Southeast Network is a UCLA-sanctioned organization that facilitates networking among UCLA Alumni and ensures a healthy relationship between area residents and UCLA. The Network covers the cities of Downey, Whittier, Norwalk, Montebello, and Pico Rivera, among other cities, and includes over 5,000 Bruins.
Downey alone boasts over 700 UCLA Alumni who call Downey their home.
