St. John Bosco launches music festival

BELLFLOWER – The first annual Brave Fest, a music festival planned by high school students under the guidance of industry professionals, will be held at St. John Bosco High School this Sunday at 11 a.m. The festival includes a headlining performance by pop rock band Parachute, which has opened shows for Kelly Clarkson and Gavin DeGraw.

Tragic Thrills, a pop-rock quartet, also will perform.

The festival will include a battle of the bands competition, with the winner receiving an opportunity to play “in front of thousands of people and open for a nationally known headliner.”

Besides musical artists, Brave Fest will feature special guests from social media, such as Viners weeklychris, lyciafaith, selfieC and GraysonhunterG. Youtube artists DavidAlvareeezy and JRmunOZ also are scheduled to attend.

Brave Fest is part of an effort to train students how to manage entertainment and gain experience in concert promotion.

General admission tickets to Brave Fest are $35 and VIP meet-and-greet tickets are $125. Tickets can be purchased online at brave-fest.com.
