Order of Eastern Star staying busy

DOWNEY – Under the leadership of Robin Logan, Worthy Matron and James Myers, Worthy Patron of Downey Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star have planned an aebleskiver breakfast for this Sunday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to noon. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and under.

It will take place on the second floor of the Downey Masonic Center. There will also be a white elephant table and baked goods table. The public is invited.

On Tuesday, April 29, the group will hold a fundraiser at Frantone’s Pizza in Cerritos from 5-10 p.m. Diners should mention they are there for the fundraiser to have a portion of their total bill donated to the club.

Meanwhile, the club will hold its general meeting May 6, and a potluck on May 20 will also be hosted on the second floor of the Masonic Center.

The group’s Friendship Club meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at the home of club president Dan Paul.

“We have had a wonderful turnout and great ideas for the up and coming months,” the club said in a statement. “We would like to see more of our members take part.”
