Lois Waters was school volunteer

DOWNEY – Lois Waters died peacefully on Sept. 14 after a long battle with cancer. Lois lived in Downey for 38 years and volunteer taught at Rio Hondo Elementary for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Kennth “Pat”; her daughter Jeni (Brian); her son Jim (Cheryl); and six grandchildren, Johnathan, Samantha, Patrick, Zachary, Evan and Tatum.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmie, and mother, Dora.

A memorial service will take place Monday, Sept. 22, at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross in Culver City.

Flowers may be sent to the chapel, or donation in Lois’ name can be made to SEAACA or Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
